After a lengthy hiatus, the three-day sprint to build a working prototype is back as WNY48.
Buffalo Startup Week is back.
The event is famous for its breathless 48-hour rush to create a working, marketable prototype.
It first landed in Buffalo about 15 years ago, attracting hundreds of dreamers and tinkerers, becoming one of the first visible signs of a grass roots entrepreneurship movement.
The latest version of Buffalo Startup Weekend is being called WNY48 and will take place April 17-19 at the University at Buffalo's CBLS building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

WNY48 is an accessible, inclusive way for people to sample the world of high-growth startups. Teams quickly form around ideas, requiring everything from logistical and operations expertise to technical acumen and business development.
The presence of generative AI make this year's event particularly intriguing. It has become much easier to build software prototypes, allowing teams to focus on the scope of the problem they're trying to solve and its execution.
