For the first time, Western New York will have a fulltime employee serving the large cohort of skilled professionals who have expressed their desire to move here.
Invest Buffalo Niagara’s Be In Buffalo campaign has tapped into a strong well of interest for people who are considering moving to Western New York.
Now it is hiring a ‘concierge’ to engage the 750 active participants in the Help Me Move portal.
The position, officially called a Talent Engagement Specialist, is the first fulltime role dedicated to helping people move to Buffalo Niagara.
The concierge will work directly with top candidates in that funnel with potential job matches, connect them with professional networking programs and community activities, and refer them to service providers that can further support their move.
“Be In Buffalo has built a large pipeline of people who are interested in relocating here, and Invest Buffalo Niagara is excited to bring in a fulltime steward who will work these leads,” said Rob Leteste, vice president of talent and sector strategy at Invest Buffalo Niagara. ““Many of these are high-performing young professionals who believe Buffalo could be a great launchpad for their career. Refreshingly though, the majority of our leads are not from Buffalo and are further into their career. Each one who moves here makes the community a more dynamic and vibrant place.”
According to Invest Buffalo Niagara, the Be In Buffalo campaign “translates the love we have for WNY into authentic messaging for why talent (and their families!) should pick Buffalo to call their next home!”
